Aquaponics at school
3rd year of aquaponics practicing at ARH, a secondary school located in Huy (Belgium). In partnership with CERER, science teachers are training our young aquaponists, aged 12 to 18. Given the success of this edition, a new session will be launched in 2024-2025.
This system, set up in a greenhouse, will support the development of new production models based on polyculture and the integration of seasonal variations in aquaponics.
Setting up of a pilot indoor aquaponic system and monitoring the performance of two production models (tilapia and pike-perch) provided 5-year research results giving an agronomic, water, energy and economic assessment of this production system.
